Out of all the production made Engines I have looked at 12.5cr is the Highest I have seen used. The Highest Rpms used on any Stock Production Engine was 7500rpms. On Avg a +1.0cr = 2hp. So a 340 TNT 26hp@6500rpms using 10.5cr, +1.0cr = 11.5cr = 28hp, 11.5cr +1.0cr = 12.5cr = 30hp. 30hp +20% for a First Generation Tuned Pipe = 36hp. So they could have used 6500rpms and made 36hp. The last restored 1972 340 Blizzard I saw was going for $5500. The Twin Cylinder Engine 340/440 TNT's and Blizzards are easier to come by. The Single Cylinder, TNT and Blizzard Engines are getting rare to find. The Standard 247/250(12hp@5500rpms) Singles started around 1963 and most Single Cylinders died out by the mid 70's, everyone wanted Twins and Triples. There were earlier Singles like a 148, 163, but I don't know what years they were made before 1963. They were very small HP Engines. The TNT's and Blizzards Singles came out around 1969 and died out around 1976. Only the Standard 247/250F (1963+) and 277F (1980+) were used up to about 2006. I want Electric Start, so I will probably make Adapter Plate and use that GPL Starter setup, it can also retain the Pull Start feature if you want.
